Contact the Mayor and your councillor… before 20th September

We need as many people as possible to contact the Mayor and local councillors before they decide whether to remove or save our safer streets at a meeting on 20th September. We know they will be checking how many people contact them and what we all say before then.

If possible, write your own email. What to say to them:

• Explain you do NOT want Option 1 or 3 that the Council published on 12th September.
• Say most people want to keep the schemes and you don’t want the council spending taxpayers money ripping out designs that most people want to keep. You could also remind them they promised to be a listening council.
• Explain what you value about the current layouts - are they safer for you or a family member/friend? Do you want to keep the cleaner air they have brought? Do you want to keep lower anti-social behaviour? Do they help you to live a healthier lifestyle? Have they improved your community in other ways? Explain what YOU like about them.
• Stick to the point about safer, healthier streets rather than talking about other policies or politics.
• Say you would like a reply to confirm they have received this before the discussion at the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday 20th September
